What is Larping?
From the dictionary, LARP is “a type of role-playing game in which each participant assumes a particular character and acts out various scenarios at events which last for a predetermined time.”
Larping is just that; it’s live action role playing, but really, it means you are going to run around as you hang out with your fellow adventurers. You’re going to have to chase the bad guy up the hill to save the inncent, and there really is going to be a hill. The action is live. We use foam swords, and people are going to try and hit you with them. It lets you actually do what your character is going to do, rather than just saying what you want to do. You get to be IN the action and a part of it. Lastly, role playing is normally what scares some people away, but don’t worry. It’s very easy to get into. You’re not on stage acting for every one else, being watched by every one. In fact it’s just the opposite. The game world is your stage, and EVERY one is helping you build that world too. There is no audience, only fellow actors.
